To connect to serial port 0 on the DT7816, perform the following steps.
Locate serial port 0 on the DT7816. As shown below, this connector has a reference designator of J13 on the board. The location of pin 1 of serial port 0 is also shown.
Connect the 6-pin end of the EP405
USB to serial TTL debug cable into serial port 0 (J10) connector
on the DT7816, being sure that pin 1 of the cable (the black wire)
is connected to pin 1 of serial port 0.
Connect the USB end of the EP405 USB to
serial TTL debug cable into the USB port of your host computer.
If you are using a Windows host computer,
a message appears indicating that device drivers are being loaded
for the USB to serial debug cable. Note, however, that the DT7816
device driver is not loaded at this point. This message does not appear
for Linux host computers.
You can now install and configure PuTTY.
