DAQami Preferences

Use the Preferences dialog box to configure default display settings, to show or hide tooltips, and to configure Auto Export settings for exporting acquired data to a .csv file.

To open this dialog box, select Gear Menu button»Preferences.

Display
Display ThemeSets the default display theme for each displays that is added to the display panel. Click the down arrow and select one of the following themes:
  • Light: the x-axis, y-axis, and text display black over a white background.
  • Dark: the x-axis, y-axis, and text display white over a blue background.
X-axis Display ModeSets the mode used to indicate the duration of the acquisition on the x-axis for all displays. The time is shown using the format hour:minute:second:millisecond (HH:MM:SS:MS). Click the down arrow and select one of the following modes:
  • Absolute Time: the x-axis is based on the time of day when samples are acquired.
  • Relative Time: the x-axis is based on the time since the acquisition began.
  • Sample Count: the x-axis is based on the number of samples acquired.
Note: You can customize the Display Theme for a specific display by clicking the Display Settings icon Display settings icon on the display.
General
Show TooltipsShows or hides tooltips.
Auto Export
Auto Export ModeClick on the down arrow and select one of the following modes:
  • Always Ask: Prompts you to export the data to a .csv file after every acquisition.
  • Never Export: Auto Export is disabled. Select Gear Menu button»Export Data to export the most recent acquisition to a .csv file.
  • Always Export: Data is automatically exported to a .csv file after every acquisition.
PrecisionEnter the number of decimal places to include in the exported data.
Use Relative TimeSelect this checkbox to export the data with the relative time when data was acquired. Leave this checkbox unchecked to export the absolute time that data was acquired.
Decimal FormatClick on the down arrow and select the decimal format to use when exporting to a .csv file:
  • Windows Setting: Use the Decimal symbol specified in the Control Panel»Region and Language setting.
  • Dot: Use a dot (.) as the decimal symbol.
  • Comma: Use a comma (,) as the decimal symbol.
SeparatorClick on the down arrow and select the symbol to use to separate each column of data when exporting to a .csv file:
  • Windows Setting (default): Use the List separator symbol specified in the Control Panel»Region and Language setting to separate each column of data.
  • Tab: Use a tab to separate each column of data.
  • Semicolon: Use a semicolon (;) to separate each column of data.
  • Comma: Use a comma (,) to separate each column of data.
Double Quotation Marks Around ValuesSelect this checkbox to use double quotation marks to designate text values when exporting to a .csv file.

When this checkbox is clear, no character is used to designate text values.
Note: Auto Export settings are disabled after the initial 30-day evaluation. Users can buy DAQami to unlock data logging and export features.

Click OK to save these changes as your default preferences.
