Block Display

A Block display shows a specified number, or block, of samples. Set the time range of samples to plot with the Seconds to Display text box on the Axes tab of the Display Settings dialog box.

Each time the specified number of samples is acquired, the block display refreshes with a new block of acquired data.

1Channel iconsThe channel(s) whose acquired data is plotted on the display. The channel color corresponds to the data trace. Right-click on the channel icon to show a context menu with options to remove the channel or change its color.
2ScrollbarA horizontal scrollbar that you can slide left or right to review sample data.
3Y-axisThe upper and lower range limits of the y-axis. You set the range limits and scale mode with the settings on the Axes tab of the Display Settings dialog box.
4Display titleTitle of the display. Default title is the display type.
5Zoom magnificationDisplays the current level of display magnification. The magnification range is 0.00390625 X to 64 X. The value updates each time you press a zoom icon.
6IconsIcons used to zoom in or out, add cursors, customize the display, and remove the display from the Display Panel.

Zoom in iconZooms in on display data.
Zoom out iconZooms out of display data.
Cursor A iconAdds a cursor to display the value of a data point.
Cursor B iconAdds another cursor to display the value of a second data point.
Copy display iconCopies the display to the clipboard.
Display settings iconOpens the Display Settings dialog box where you customize the display appearance.
Display delete iconRemoves the display from the Display Panel.
7Acquired dataBlocks of acquired data display from left to right. The block size is equal to the number of samples to acquire. You set the time range of samples to show on a display with the Seconds to Display text box on the Axes tab of the Display Settings dialog box.
8X-axisThe absolute time, relative time, or sample count of the acquisition.
  • Absolute Time – shows the time of day when samples are acquired.
  • Relative Time – shows the length of time since the acquisition began when the sample was acquired.
  • Sample count – shows the number of samples acquired.
You set the X-axis display mode on the Preferences dialog box.
9Toggle live /review modeClick on the lock icon to toggle the display between live and review mode while an acquisition is running.
Live mode iconWhen the lock icon is locked, the display is in live mode and updates as data is acquired based on the configuration.

Click on the icon to change to review mode.
Review mode iconWhen the lock icon is unlocked, the display is in review mode. A horizontal scrollbar appears on the display for reviewing samples. Data continues to be acquired based on the configuration.

Click on the icon to change to live mode.

To show a grid on the display, select the Show Grid checkbox on the Display Settings dialog box.

This menu is only available when an acquisition is running in review mode Review mode icon and when DAQami is idle.
